Luke graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2004 with an honours degree in Structural & Civil Engineering; his final year dissertation was geared to the specialised field of Fire Safety Engineering and led to a nomination for the Institute of Engineer’s Ireland Young Engineer of the Year award. Upon graduation, he set about specialising in the field of Fire Safety Engineering by completing the Trinity College Dublin Postgraduate diploma in Fire Safety practice and, in doing so, winning the Chief Fire Officer’s Association prize. thereafter, he completed a Master's in Fire Safety Engineering with distinction at the University of Ulster.
Luke became a Chartered Fire Engineer with Engineers Ireland in 2007 and a Fellow in 2020. With over two decades of experience working on many of the most prestigious national projects undertaken in recent times. Luke’s respected status within the Industry is evidenced by his invitational role as an external examiner on the Letterkenny IT Fire Engineering degree and his role as a Fire Engineering lecturer on the Level 8 Fire Engineering Degree in DIT. Luke has collaborated on the co-writing of a Georgian townhouse study commissioned by Dublin City Council and is an active participant in the development of national technical fire safety guidance.
Luke was a founding Partner of MJP and became the Managing Director in 2018 and has successfully overseen the continued growth and development of MJP in navigating the challenges of covid on the construction industry whilst continuing to grow MJP’s position as the service provider of choice.
Luke is highly specialised in his field and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Fire Safety Practice with first-class honours and a Master in Fire Engineering with first-class honours. Professional Awards in his career to date are as follows:

Luke combines a deep technical understanding with a wealth of practical experience on-site. The majority of Luke’s experience involves working closely and constructively with fellow design team members.
In his capacity as the Partner at MJP in charge of delivery of Access Consultancy services for the Practice; Luke has undertaken a postgraduate diploma course in accessibility in the University of Ulster and his expertise in the field is further evidenced by his appointment as an Inspector of An Bord Pleanála in relation to Disability Access discipline.
Luke has been invited to speak at a number of national fire safety-related conferences, including the Irish Building Control Institute, the Institute of Fire Engineers and the Construction Industry Federation.
