David is a graduate of University College Dublin completing an honours degree in Civil Engineering in 2010. Thereafter he focused on specialising in the field of fire engineering and completed a Masters in Structural and Fire Safety Engineering in the University of Edinburgh in 2011.
David joined Maurice Johnson & Partners in October 2011 and is currently a Fire Safety and Access Consultant. While actively working towards his chartership he has been charged with undertaking fire and disability access consultancy services on a wide range of project types including office blocks, shopping centres, educational facilities, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.
David developed an interest in smoke control and fire and smoke modelling during his time in Edinburgh and since joining Maurice Johnson & Partners he has put these skills to practical use. David has become proficient in the computational fluid dynamics model FDS and used it in combination with PyroSim to analyse smoke movement in large scale buildings including prisons wings, university blocks and office atriums.
